Thurman Alvey III

Sports Medicine Specialist

Dr. Thurman Alvey’s practice focuses on the athlete in everyone. His depth of expertise keeps the youngest to the oldest members of your family active and healthy. Dr. Alvey is trained and certified in sports medicine, family medicine, osteopathic medicine and pain medicine.

Additionally, Dr. Alvey is active in medical education. He is an author, national lecturer and researcher whose interests include injury prevention, sports nutrition, regenerative biomedicine and concussion management. A native of Franklin, Indiana, Dr. Alvey was a multi-sport athlete and a wrestling coach at middle school, high school, and college levels.

From early on in his career, you could find Dr. Alvey on a sideline for a local high school, college, or professional event. Since 2012, he has been a Colts team physician. He and his wife, April, have four daughters: Lucy, Claire, Lydia and Audrey.
