Philip Beaverson

Physical Therapist

Philip Beaverson, PT, has over 29 years of physical therapy experience in a variety of specialties. In this time, he has accumulated an extremely eclectic approach to patient care. Philip thoroughly enjoys patient education (when the "light" goes on and a patient "gets it" = rewarding!) and utilizing manual interventions during therapeutic exercise/activities as well as neuromuscular cues. Since each patient has unique perspective and goals, Philip enjoys working alongside them as a coach and cheerleader to guide and assist in achieving a return to healthy living. He was led to pursue a career as a physical therapist after Dr. Arthur Rettig was his surgeon for a complete radius and ulna fracture in 1986. As Philip was wrapping up his care, Dr. Arthur Rettig invited him to observe a surgery. Philip jumped at the chance and with the passing of time, his interest in the medical field accelerated. During university, realizing he is of a more "process" guy, Philip shifted from surgeon track to physical therapy, having experienced much therapy through the years.

Philip enjoys the variety of people he gets to meet and develop friendships with over the course of their rehabilitation. Seeing family members and/or friends of these same people from "word of mouth" referral is always rewarding to him. When the graduation day arrives and people are back to their quality of life (perhaps even enhanced beyond where they were previous to injury), Philip says this makes it all worth it! In his free time, Philp enjoys golfing, cycling, running, after-dinner walks with his wife and spending time with his family simply "doing life.”
