John McCarroll

John McCarroll, MD

Retired Founding Physician

Dr. John McCarroll is a fellowship-trained, board-certified physician and a founding partner of Forté Sports Medicine and Orthopedics. After many years as an all-state football player for Zanesville High School, a competitor on the Ohio State baseball team, team physician, orthopedic consultant and avid golfer, Dr. McCarroll understood in his career that nothing is more frustrating than sitting on the sidelines with an injury. He devoted his career to getting players back in the game, whether the game was starting in a match-up between IU and one of its Big 10 foes, or comfortably sitting or cheering in the stands. As the father to four children and grandfather of four, Dr. McCarroll believes an important part of being a good doctor is the ability to see your patients as people — dads and moms, grandparents, sisters, and brothers, who all juggle demanding lifestyles and need to find time to pursue their passions, volunteer and play as a family at every opportunity. Dr. McCarroll retired from practice in 2021.
