Ryan Pattyn

Knee and Hip Replacement Surgeon

Dr. Ryan Pattyn provides a highly personalized, technology-driven approach to patient care. Through the utilization of advanced muscle-sparing techniques and robotic-assisted surgery, he aims to maximize surgical precision, minimize soft tissue trauma, and support faster, more comfortable recovery for all patients. By getting to know his patients, Dr. Pattyn strives to deliver compassionate, individualized care that prioritizes every patient’s unique goals and lifestyle needs to develop treatment plans for maximum benefit and the restoration of quality-of-life his patients expect and deserve. Dr. Pattyn wants every patient that he encounters to feel confident, informed, and supported throughout their joint care journey. 

Dr. Pattyn attended DePauw University for his undergraduate training. He then graduated medical school and completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Indiana University School of Medicine. Dr. Pattyn went on to further specialize in Adult Reconstructive Surgery for Hip and Knee Replacement at the University Of Louisville.

Dr. Pattyn was led to pursue a career as a physician due to his compassion for people and his community. As a native Hoosier to central Indiana, the privilege to provide orthopaedic care to his community is a humbling honor. It brings him a sense of great pride to earn the trust of his neighbors, and he takes seriously the responsibility that comes with it.  Dr. Pattyn most enjoys the powerful and profound impact joint replacement surgery can have on someone’s life. Seeing a patient go from daily pain to enjoying the activities of daily life and knowing he contributed to that success is what he feels this job is all about.  

In his spare time, Dr. Pattyn enjoys running, hiking, travel, golf, boating, rugby, rock climbing, guitar, fantasy football, and the Indiana Pacers. Above all else, he cherishes spending time with his wife, 2 daughters, and Bernedoodle Frank.
